On Friday, 8 September 2023, Ambassador Azhar visited the Kay and Emms Pvt Limited Textile Factory in Faisalabad. On arrival, he was extended a warm welcome by Mr. Khurram Tariq, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kay and Emms Pvt.Limited. During the visit, the Mr. Khurram Tariq shared the details of textile factory. Flag hoisting ceremony of Malaysia and Pakistan was held at the factory. On this occasion, National Anthem of Malaysia "Negaraku" followed by National Anthem of Pakistan were played. His Excellency the High Commissioner and his spouse planted a tree at the lawn of the factory.
Mr. Khurram Tariq apprised the High Commissioner that Kay & Emms PVT Limited was a complete vertical unit that offers all processes from knitting to packaging. Its operations are managed and monitored through a centralized computerized system. He informed the High Commissioner that Mr. Sharif Tariq (Chairman) perceived the idea of Kay & Emms, and Dr. Khurram Tariq (CEO) laid the foundation in 1990 with just 35 stitching machines. Kay & Emms has earned its place as a global supplier (with more than 2,300 machines), the manufacturing lines and equipment are constantly upgraded to ensure the highest standards, reliability, and a broad range of fabric finishing operations. Around 4,000 workers (male and female workers) are currently working in the factory. With its production management competencies and state-of-the-art equipment, Kay & Emms has been ranked among the top 15 knitted garments manufacturers in Pakistan.
