On Monday, 14 August 2023, Ambassador Mohammad Azhar Mazlan attended the flag-hoisting ceremony commemorating the 76th Anniversary of Pakistan's Independence Day at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad. President Dr. Arif Alvi graced the event.
In his address President Alvi expressed optimism about Pakistan's future, envisioning a prosperous and developed nation. He emphasized the significance of adhering to the fundamental principles and guidance laid out by the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The President called upon the country's politicians and other stakeholders to adopt a path of forgiveness, drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Local dignitaries present at the ceremony were, among others, Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, as well as members of the Diplomatic Corps in Islamabad.
