FOLLOW-UP MEETING WITH SENIOR OFFICIALS OF THE GOVERNMENT OF PUNJAB AT THE HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA IN ISLAMABAD ON 20 JANUARY 2009 On Tuesday, 20 January 2009, HIS EXCELLENCY AMBASSADOR AHMAD SHAHIZAN ABD SAMAD, High Commissioner of Malaysia had an intense follow-up meeting with senior officials of the Government of Punjab following the courtesy call made on the Chief Minister of Punjab on 13 January 2009 in Lahore.
During the meeting, AMBASSADOR AHMAD SHAHIZAN, led the discussion and prioritized the proposed items that were of tremendous interest to both Malaysia and Pakistan. On the overall, the proposals seemed workable for its realization and, thus, they were prioritized accordingly. The schedules of the proposals were also drawn up to reflect their implementation stages, such as the basis on short-, medium-, and long-term.

In summary, categorically, the proposed items were prioritized as follows: infrastructure, Malacca-Lahore Twin-cities, tourism and flight connectivity, education, 'Halal' hub capacity on livestock and dairy, agriculture, finance, banking and insurance, business-to-business contacts, energy, oil and gas, and IT.
