On Wednesday 16 August 2023, Ambassador Azhar attended the Med-Health Expo 2023 at Serena Hotel Islamabad. The health sector exhibition was organised by the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI). The event brought together key players from Pakistan’s pharmaceutical industries, private hospitals, and universities engaged in applied research. Notably, the National Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (NCIB) participated as an exhibitor, showcasing its research and development (R&D) products in the domains of nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and cosmeceuticals.
While addressing the “Med-Health Expo 2023 and Summit”, President Dr. Arif Alvi said that health and education were two basic sectors which needed to be put on top priority because nations always build on these two areas. The President further said the people especially those with limited resources could easily avoid chronic diseases such as breast cancer, hepatitis, and communicable diseases by adopting preventive measures. On the occasion, President Alvi awarded shields to pharmaceutical companies, private hospitals, and medical laboratories for their services in the health sector.
