ACT Family Day 2013 was held at the Embassy of Viet Nam in Tokyo, Japan on 20 October 2013. This annual event was initially planned to be held at the recreational park, Shiokaze Park, Odaiba. However, due to inclement weather, the venue had been changed to the Embassy of Viet Nam, since Viet Nam was the organizer of this annual event. There were about 120 guests comprising homebased staff as well as locally recruited staff from all ASEAN Member States, except Laos, participated in this event. The Embassy’s contingent was represented by a total of 24 HBS led by the Deputy Chief of Mission.
The event was officiated by the Vietnamese Ambassador and subsequently followed by several indoor activities such as karaoke, golf putting and table tennis. Guests were then invited to enjoy food served from various ASEAN countries. Among the dishes prepared by ACT Malaysia were nasi lemak, rendang, fried noodles and bihun, cup cakes and traditional cakes such as lompang, kuih bakar dan kuih lapis.
