OFFICIAL VISIT OF THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF MELAKA, MALAYSIA TO LAHORE, PAKISTAN

His Excellency Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam, Governor of the State of Melaka, Malaysia, accompanied by a fourteen-member delegation, undertook an Official Visit to Lahore, Pakistan, from 10 to 12 June 2024. His Excellency Ambassador Dato' Mohammad Azhar Bin Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, and Mr. Muhammad Zulasri Bin Rosdi, First Secretary of the High Commission, received the delegation at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, on 10 June 2024.

During the visit, His Excellency the Governor witnessed the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Lahore and Universiti Geomatika Malaysia. The MoU encompasses collaboration between the two universities in student exchange programs, scholarships, course design and content, and many more. Both sides also discussed potential collaborations in medical and dental education, television and film media, and other promising ventures that could benefit both universities and states. This visit marked a significant step towards strengthening educational and cultural ties.

The Malaysian delegation also visited the cities of Gujranwala and Sialkot in the Punjab Province on 12 June 2024. During the business tour, the delegation visited Prime Industries – Edible Palm Oil packers in Gujranwala. Later in the day, the delegation visited Al-Maqsood Rice Mills, Towne Brothers (Private) Ltd – manufacturer of dentistry equipment, Malik Sports product, and the office of Air Sial in Sialkot. Additionally, the delegation had the opportunity to visit historic places around Lahore, such as the Lahore Fort, Badshahi Mosque, and Allama Iqbal Memorial.
