On Saturday, 11 February 2023, Ambassador Azhar visited the Royal Malaysian Navy Ship-KD Lekiu. The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Herman Hardynata Ahmad, Consul General, Col. Noraripin Bin Othman, Defence Attaché and staff members of Consulate General of Malaysia in Karachi. The RMN frigate of 180 - strong-member participated in the Pakistani Exercise AMAN 2023, which was held at Karachi Port from 10 - 14 February 2023. Exercise AMAN is the premier multinational maritime exercise of the Pakistani Navy which has been conducted biennially since 2007. The exercise was conducted with the aim to developing synergy between participating navies to tackle maritime security challenges by enhancing interoperability between regional and extra-regional navies at different levels of technological prowess. During the visit, the Ambassador was given a briefing by Captain Mohd Reduan Bin Ayob RMN, Commanding Officer of KD Lekiu. Malaysia has been participating in all the eight AMAN Exercise since 2007. Malaysia's participation is a testimony of a strong bond of relationship between Malaysia and Pakistan.
