RECCE VISIT BY THE SENIOR REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF TOURISM MALAYSIA IN ISLAMABAD ON 9-12 FEBRUARY 2009 YBHG. ENCIK ABDUL RAHMAN SHAARI, Senior Regional Director of TOURISM Malaysia in Dubai made sales calls and preliminary meetings in Pakistan on 9-17 February 2009. His first visit was to Islamabad, which took place on 9-12 February 2009. During his visit, he immediately paid a courtesy call on HIS EXCELLENCY AMBASSADOR AHMAD SHAHIZAN ABD SAMAD, High Commissioner of Malaysia.
Following this, he had strings of fruitful meetings with the CEO of Serena Hotel Islamabad followed by dinner, ?Malaysia Incorporated? meeting, Senior Representatives of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Federal Minister for Tourism of Pakistan, GSA Sales Manager of Malaysia Airlines System (MAS), CEO of Omar Travels, MD of Pakistan Television (PTV), CEO of Blue Chip publishing agency and also GM and Management Team of Serena Hotel Islamabad.
Interestingly, ENCIK ABDUL RAHMAN was later accompanied by his counterpart from Kuala Lumpur, ENCIK MOHD HAFEZIN KHADIRI, Assistant Director of TOURISM Malaysia, to assist him with the analyses and reporting of their visits, in particular to recommend to its Headquarters of the timely need to promote our tourism industry and, above all, the people-to-people contacts in Pakistan.
