REGISTRATION OF BIRTH 

[UNDER ARTICLE 14(1)(B), SECTION 1(C) PART II, SECOND SCHEDULE OF

THE MALAYSIAN CONSTITUTION]

(IF THE FATHER IS A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN)

 

NOTE:

 

i.    Registration of birth under Article 14(1)(b), Section 1(c) Part II, Second Schedule of the Malaysian Constitution must be done BEFORE the child reaches the age of 12 months. If the age of the child is more than 12 months during the registration, the registration will be forwarded to Malaysian Registration Department in Malaysia for consideration.

 

ii.    IF both parents of the child are Malaysian citizens, both parents OR either mother or father of the child, together with the child must be present during registration.

 

iii.   IF only father of the child is a Malaysian citizen, both parents OR the father of the child, together with the child must be present during registration.

 

iv.    Certified true copies accepted ONLY from Malaysia if obtained from:

             any Immigration Department of Malaysia office;

             any Malaysian Registration Department office; or

             Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia (Wisma Putra)

 

v.   Applications without sufficient supporting documents will not be entertained. Please call for an appointment. Submission of the registration must be done on Monday only (except Public Holiday).

Original and two (2) copies of Malaysian Identification Card - MyKad (front and back) of the parents (for Malaysian only)

Original and two (2) copies of Malaysian / foreign birth certificate of the parents

 

6.

Original and two (2) copies of Malaysian Marriage Certificate of the parents

 

 

7.

Original and two (2) copies of the child’s local issued Certificate of Live Birth

 

8.

Two (2) recent photograph of the child (passport size)

 

9.

REGISTRATION OF BIRTH

(IF THE FATHER IS NOT A MALAYSIAN CITIZEN)

 

 

NOTE:

 

i.    Registration of birth under Article 15(2) of the Malaysian Constitution is to be done BEFORE the child reaches the age of 10 months to allow sufficient time for the application to be forwarded to Malaysian Registration Department in Malaysia before the child reaches the age of 12 months.

 

ii.    Both parents of the child, together with the child must be present during registration. The application will be forwarded to Malaysian Registration Department in Malaysia for consideration. The processing time for the child’s citizenship application could be more than two (2) years.

iii.    Certified true copies accepted ONLY from Malaysia if obtained from:

       any Immigration Department of Malaysia office;

       any Malaysian Registration Department office; or

       Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia (Wisma Putra)

 

v.     Applications without sufficient supporting documents will not be entertained.

REGISTRATION OF MARRIAGE

NOTE:  

 

i.      The husband and wife, or either one of them must be Malaysian citizen.

 

ii.     Both husband and wife must be present during the registration.

 

iii.    Registration of marriage must be done within six (6) months after the marriage took place in the Philippines. Penalty of PhP1,200 will be charged for late registration for the first six (6) months and PhP550 for each subsequent year.

iv.     Applications without sufficient supporting documents will not be entertained.

Original and two (2) copies of Malaysian  / foreign birth certificate (husband and wife)

Original and two (2) copies of local marriage certificate

Original and a copy of Malaysian’s Statement of Marital Status

Original and copy of Filipino’s Certificate of No Marriage issued by PSA
