On 23 February 2013, at the invitation of SP Brewery, the Malaysian High Commissioner, PYT Datin Seri Blanche Olbery attended the SP Brewey Chinese New Year Dinner at the Dynasty Restaurant, Port Moresby to celebrate the Chinese New Year, Year of the Snake complete with the lion dance, fire crackers and door gifts.
PYT Datin Seri joined the VIPs at the main table, Hon. Justine Tkachencko, MP, Minister for Sports and Pacific Games, General Manager of SP Brewery, Mr. Stan Joyce, CSM and his wife, Ambassador of China to Papua New Guinea, H.E. Qiu Buhoa, at the main table to the tossing of ‘yee sang’ with their chopsticks while saying phrases that mean good luck and long life.
