Passport Renewal
Malaysians in the Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu may renew their passports through the High Commission of Malaysia in Papua New Guinea. Applicants are advised to submit their applications well ahead of time (e.g. 3 months before the passport expires or when the passport has less than 3 empty pages left) as the application has to be referred to the Immigration Department of Malaysia to be processed.
APPLICATION FOR NEW/REPLACEMENT MALAYSIA PASSPORT (MRP)
- Application form IM. 42C (available at the High Commission of Malaysia);
- 1 photocopy of Passport (page 1, 2, 3 and Papua New Guinea visa)
- 3 recent passport size photographs (wear dark cloth and clear WHITE background)
- 1 photocopy of identity card (front and back)
- 1 photocopy of birth certificate
- 1 photocopy of Papua New Guniea work permit card
- Fee: RM 200.00 for adult age 13 – 59 years
RM 100.00 for adult age 60 years and above
Applcation for child under 18:
- Application form IM. 42C (available at the High Commission of Malaysia)
- 1 X photocopy of the child’s passport (biodata page and dependent visa page)
- 1 X Borang A1/B1 (father’s consent form)
- 1 X photocopy of child’s Malaysian birth certificate (Form W or H)
- 1 X photocopy of parent’s marriage certificate (both Malaysia and Papua New Guinea)
- 1 photocopy of parent’s passport (page 1, 2, 3 and Papua New Guinea visa)
- 1 X photocopy of parent’s identity card (front and back)
- Fee: RM 200.00 for a child age 12 - 18 years
RM 100.00 for a child under 12 years
* Note:
- Do not cut photocopies of documents to size (must be A4 size).
- Bring along your original documents when submitting your application.
- For expired Malaysian passport, kindly obtain a “Certificate of Evidence of Resident Status in PNG” from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship.
- Application will be forwarded to Immigration Department of Malaysia for processing of new passport which take about three/four months.

Consular Hours: 9.00 a.m. – 11.30 p.m. for submission of consular documents
1.00 p.m. - 3.30 p.m. for collection of consular documents
Monday – Friday (except Public Holidays)
- Malaysians residing in Solomon Islands and Vanuatu may submit their applications using a prepaid courier service. Passport fee is to be convert to Papua New Guinea Kina and include with the required documents to:
