A six nation Ministerial Meeting on the Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security was held in Port Moresby from the 9th - 11th March 2009. The six CTI member countries are Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Timor Leste and the Solomon Islands. The meeting was held to discuss several key issues in laying down the groundwork for a successful CTI summit in May to be hosted by the Indonesian Government in Manado, Indonesia.
2. The Malaysian delegation led by Dr. Lian Kok Fei, Undersecretary from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Enviroment (NRE) and he was accompanied by officials from Fisheries Department, Marine Department, Park Department as well as Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
3. The CTI Meeting also attended by several NGO's, donor agencies, officials from other interested countries, international agencies and civil society partners.
4. The Charge d' Affaires of Malaysian High Commission, Mr. Nur Azman Abdul Rahim hosted a dinner for the Malaysian delegation on the first day of their arrival.
