COURTESY CALL AND INTRODUCTION OF THE MALAYSIAN INVESTOR TO THE HON. PRIME MINISTER OF PAPUA NEW GUINEA, 20 FEBRUARY 2013

The Malaysian High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, PYT Datin Seri Blanche Olbery made a courtesy call on Hon. Peter O’Neill, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea on 20 February 2013 at the Prime Minister’s office at the Parliament of Papua New Guinea.  The High Commissioner was accompanied by Mr. Farzamie Sarkawi, Counsellor.
 
During the meeting, PYT High Commissioner and PM O’Neill exchanged views on the bilateral relation between Malaysia and Papua New Guinea. The discussion focused on matters concerning cooperation in the field of higher education as well as the visit of the officials from Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia (KBS) to Port Moresby. KBS delegation is scheduled to convene discussion with the Government of Papua New Guinea and the Commonwealth Secretariat on "Best Practices on Youth Development in Malaysia" on 22 February 2013. Outcome of the discussion is expected to be presented during the forthcoming 8th Commonwealth Youth Ministers’ Meeting in Port Moresby in April 2013.
 
The meeting was later joined by the Malaysian investor, YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Abdul Kadir Hj. Sheikh Fadzir, Executive Chairman, Mansfield Enterprise (PNG) Ltd. The Executive Chairman, who briefed PM O’Neill the progress of Yumu Resources Agro-Forestry project in Central Province, Papua New Guinea.
