DIPLOMATIC CORPS VISIT TO PNG LNG SITE, 12 March 2013

Members of the PNG Diplomatic Corps visited the Papa Lealea plant site of Papua New Guinea Liquefied Natural Gas (PNG LNG) in Port Moresby on 12 March 2013.
 
The half-day visit was to update the Diplomatic Corps after the May 2012 visit. The workshop and tour was organized by Esso Highland Limited the contractor for the PNG LNG project and coordinated by PYT Datin Seri Blanche Olbery, High Commissioner of Malaysia as the Dean of Diplomatic Corps. The purpose of the visit was two-fold. Firstly, to witness the capacity of the project and secondly, to analyse the impact it brings to the economic and social structure of PNG. The members of Diplomatic Corps participated in the tour were PYT Datin Seri High Commissioner, Ambassadors of China, Indonesia, EU and United States of America: High Commissioners of New Zealand and Solomon Islands; Acting High Commissioner of Australian High Commission and Acting UN Resident Coordinator; First Secretary of Embassy of China and Korea and Second Secretary of High Commission of Malaysia.  The Managing Director of Esso Highlands welcomed the Diplomatic Corps, joined in the Tour and gave a briefing to the Diplomatic Corps on the progress of the plant.
