DINNER TO BID FAREWELL TO MR. NUR AZMAN RAHIM, OUT-GOING COUNSELLOR / HEAD OF CHANCERY & HIS FAMILY AND TO WELCOME MR. FARZAMIE SARKAWI, NEW COUNSELLOR / HEAD OF CHANCERY, 11 APRIL 2012
A dinner was hosted by the Malaysian High Commissioner, H.E. Datin Seri Blanche Olbery to bid farewell to Mr. Nur Azman Rahim, Counsellor and his family who will be leaving Papua New Guinea at the end of his tour of duty on 14 April 2012, after serving three years and two months at the Malaysian High Commission. He has been transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia in Putrajaya.
It was also to welcome the new Counsellor, Mr. Farzamie Sarkawi who had arrived in PNG on 10 April 2012. Prior to this, Mr. Farzamie has served in the Embassy of Malaysia in Warsaw, Poland.
The dinner was held at the Official Residence of the High Commissioner. The guests were treated to delicious Malaysian cuisine, tomato rice, thosai, chicken rending, sweet & sour fish, fish curry, prawn sambal, vegetarian dhall, fried mixed vegetable and fried kangkong. All the HBS and family attended the dinner. Mr. Peter Guna, the proprietor of the Guna Auto together with his wife, Mrs. Lydia also attended the dinner.
