In relation to protests around the city against persons of an Asian appearance or Asian background yesterday, Malaysians who are residing in Port Moresby are urged to remain vigilant and cautions as well as to avoid trouble areas i.e North Waigani, Gordons and Erima. The High Commission of Malaysia has been informed by the Diplomatic Police to advise Malaysians to remain cautions as the situation is still uncertain. In this regard, Malaysians also are advised to restrict their movement and encourage to report to the High Commission of any incidents which involved them. At the moment, the High Commission is communicating directly with the relevant government authorities and has already taken necessary steps and measures to ensure the safety and security of Malaysians in Port Moresby.
