OFFICIAL LAUNCHING OF PNG KIDNEY FOUNDATION INC., 21 MARCH 2013

The Papua New Guinea Kidney Foundation Inc (PNGKF) was officially launched by the Patron, HE Grand Chief Sir Michael Ogio, the Governor General of Papua New Guinea, on 21 March 2013 in Port Moresby. A total of 50 tables of 10-course dinner were sold and auctions as well as lucky draw for door prize were held in an effort to raise funds for the foundation.
 
Hon. Michael Malabag, Minister for Health; Hon. Don Polye, Minister for Treasury; Hon. Mark Maipakai, Minister for Labour and Mr. Chua Hong Wee, CEO of the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia were present.   PYT Datin Seri High Commissioner was also invited as guest at the launching.
 
PYT Datin Seri High Commissioner, Patron of the Malaysian Association Papua New Guinea (MAPNG), Mr. Ang Cheng Chooi, President, Mr. Chew Pang Heng, Vice President and Mr. Ivan Lu, Committee Member later presented a donation of K 50,000 to the Foundation.  
 
PNGKF was established in 2009 by a group of citizens and residents concerned at the increasing number of Papua New Guineans developing kidney associated medical problems and seeking expensive medical treatment overseas, and also at the increasing number of deaths attributed to Kidney diseases. It is a certified Non-Government Organisation under the PNG laws.
