THE MALAYSIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER ATTENDED THE 54TH INDEPENDENCE DAY OF MALAYSIA CELEBRATION HOSTED BY THE HONORARY CONSULATE-GENERAL OF MALAYSIA IN HONIARA, SOLOMON ISLANDS, 28 AUGUST 2011
H.E. Datin Seri Blanche Olbery, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and the Republic of Vanuatu, attended a dinner hosted by the Honorary Consul-General of Malaysia to Solomon Islands, Mr. Hii Ying Ging in Honiara to celebrate the 54th Independence Day of Malaysia.
The Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, Hon. Danny Philip was the guest-of-honour made a speech and joined in the cake cutting ceremony.
In the morning of 28 August 2011, a charity golf event was held to raise funds for the local charitable organizations. The Malaysian High Commissioner presented the prizes to the winners of the golf event at the Honiara Golf Club.
