THE MALAYSIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER ATTENDED THE FUNERAL SERVICE OF THE LATE MR. WONG TEE TEE, A MALAYSIAN BUSINESSMAN, 22 JUNE 2011
The Malaysian High Commissioner, H.E. Datin Seri Blanche Olbery attended the Funeral Service of the Late Mr. Wong Tee Tee on 22 June 2011 at the Rev. Sione Kami Memorial Church, Gabaka Street, Gordons. The late Mr. Wong was shot dead on 15 June 2011 at the Hohola tunnel, Port Moresby.
The late Mr. Wong, a Malaysian businessman who has been living in Papua New Guinea (PNG) since 1979, was the General Manager of Tango Department Store. He was a highly respected and generous man who had touched the lives of many people. He has helped many Malaysians while they were in PNG. He was very generous and contributed significantly towards the development of local community in various charitable activities and organizations. The most special element of his character that he always took an interest in the people he met and always being ready with a helping hand. He was philosophical in his approach to life.
The Malaysian High Commissioner paid tribute and delivered a eulogy for the late Mr. Wong. Sir Paulias Matane, the former Governor General of PNG and his former Secretary were amongst those who delivered eulogies and paid tributes to the late Mr. Wong. His son and daughter-in-law from Singapore, friends with their families, around 300 staff from Tango Department Store, all HBS and family members as well as the LRS from the High Commission of Malaysia, were at the funeral service to bid farewell to the late Mr. Wong.
