THE MALAYSIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER ATTENDED THE GRAND OPENING OF THE VISION CITY MEGA MALL AND 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF RIMBUNAN HIJAU (PNG) GROUP, 6 MAY 2011
The Malaysian High Commissioner, H.E. Datin Seri Blanche Olbery attended the Grand Opening of the Vision City Mega Mall and the 20th Anniversay of Rimbunan Hijau (PNG) Group on 6 May 2011 on the invitation of the Rimbunan Hijau (PNG) Group together with her family, Mr. Nur Azman Abdul Rahim, Counsellor / Head Chancery and spouse as well as Mr. Khirul Anuar Esa, Third Secretary.
The guest of honour was the Acting Prime Minister, Hon. Samuel Abal. Hon. Governor Powes Parkop, the Governor of Port Moresby was among other PNG dignitaries who attended the event. In his speech, Hon. Abal congratulated RH for being in PNG for the past 20 years. He thanked the RH Group of companies top managements for providing employment to Papua New Guinean. He also mentioned that RH Group has made significant economic contributions to the economic growth of PNG.
Tan Sri Datuk Sir Tiong Hiew King, Executive Chairman of Rimbunan Hijau (RH) Group, Dato’ Sri Dr. Tiong Ik King, Managing Director, Rimbunan Hijau International Pte. Ltd, Mr. James Lau, Managing Director, Rimbunan Hijau (PNG) Group and other RH officials also attended. Tan Sri Datuk Sir Tiong said in his speech that new international hotel apartments and modern office space would also be part of Vision City and it would provide employment and growth. It would generate more than K200 million in economic activities annually.
The VIPs and Guests were taken on a Guided Tour of Mega Mall, followed by Laser Light Show, Cultural Dances, Acrobatic Performance, Presentation of Songs by singers, cutting of anniversary cake, dinner, lucky draws and Open Air Fireworks.
Vision City Mega Mall (VCM) a truly Malaysian pride in the Pacific region. It was master planned and developed by Dynasty Development Ltd (DDL), a subsidiary company of RH (PNG) Group. It was launched (ground breaking) in June 2008 and it was completed / opened in early 2010. The largest shopping mega mall in the Pacific region and largest shopping complex in Port Moresby with luxury business hotel & convention centre, executive apartment, restaurant in a one-stop self-contained, convenient and secured environment.
