The Embassy of Malaysia in Doha, Qatar organized the ASEAN Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, August 8th, 2011 to commemorate the celebration of the 44th ASEAN Day.
The event which took place at the Chancery compound was attended by all ASEAN Embassies in Doha, Qatar namely Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
His Excellency Amb. Ahmad Jazri bin Mohd Johar delivered remarks to kick start the event. In his speech, His Excellency highlighted about the background of ASEAN-GCC Cooperation and the establishment of ASEAN Committee in Doha (ACD).
Despite the hot weather, representatives from all ASEAN Embassies in Doha, Qatar, gathered to sing the ASEAN song out loud.
