Jazeera Children?s Channel signs deal with MDeC

Putrajaya, Malaysia ? Al Jazeera Children's Channel (JCC) and Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) yesterday formalised their partnership in content development and distribution through an exchange of document during the 10th International Advisory Panel (IAP) Meeting.
The proposed collaboration consists of a co-production and global marketing of the 26 episodes of Saladin 3D Animated Television Series. First episode of Saladin is planned for broadcast on Al Jazeera Children's Channel in the last quarter of 2008. The Letter of Intent was signed by Mahmoud Bouneb, Executive General Manager of Al Jazeera Children's Channel and Dato' Badlisham Ghazali, Chief Executive Officer of MDeC.
Also present were Abdul Hameed Mubarak Al Kubaisi, Qatari Ambassador to Malaysia, Malika Alouane, Head of Marketing and Communications in Al Jazeera Children's Channel, and a number of Malaysian ministers and senior officials.
Last March, MDeC and JCC had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Doha to pave the way for local Malaysians to develop content for JCC in the areas of animation, games, mobile and digital content.
The MoU would also facilitate global market access for content developed by local Malaysian companies.
Mahmoud Bouneb is also partaking in the MSC Malaysia 10th IAP meeting, along with a group of leading worldwide experts in ICT, and related Multimedia & Creative sectors. Bouneb, the first Arab member to join the IAP, will contribute in content development and global strategy. The IAP members are appointed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, to bring in counsel to the government shaping the future of Malaysia's Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC Malaysia).
