The Embassy of Malaysia in Doha organized an event entitled Malaysia Truly Asia: Food Culture on 5 June 2024. The event was part of the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of bilateral relations between Malaysia and Qatar.
His Excellency Zamshari Shaharan, Ambassador of Malaysia in his welcoming remarks underlined that the event is organized to sensitize guests of the Food Culture in Malaysia, particularly the Malaysian Breakfast Culture. In doing so, the Embassy had collaborated with Malaysian chefs based in Doha. This is in line with the aspiration from the Government for the synergies between the Malaysian community in Qatar with the Embassy in promoting Malaysia in Qatar.
The Malaysian Breakfast Culture, renowned for its delicious dishes such as nasi lemak, roti canai, and teh tarik, has been nominated to be included in UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage as part of the effort to enhance Malaysia's global visibility as a food lover's paradise. Malaysia aims to establish itself as a diverse tourist destination with a wide array of culinary traditions.
