On 17 May 2026, the Embassy of Malaysia in Doha, together with the Ladies Association of the Embassy (Perwakilan Doha), organised a cultural showcase titled “Timeless Charms of Malaysia’s Batik & Songket” at Andaz Hotel Doha on 17 May 2026.
The event highlighted Malaysia’s rich multicultural heritage, vibrant traditions and warm hospitality through a series of cultural performances and fashion presentations featuring the country’s iconic batik and songket attire.
The guest of honour was HE Sheikha Najla Faisal al-Thani, Director of the Heritage and Identity Department at the Ministry of Culture. The showcase was also attended by members of the Spouse of Heads of Mission in Qatar (SOHOM), the diplomatic corps, distinguished guests from the Qatar Women Association, and members of the international community in Qatar.
