"Malaysia Truly Asia" Makes Inroad into Romania

The Embassy and with the cooperation of Tourism Malaysia Office in Frankfurt had organised a briefing, followed by video presentation on “Malaysia Truly Asia” to the major tour operators and journalists from travel magazines in Bucharest, Romania on 14 May 2009.  The main objective of the briefing was not only to create greater awareness about tourist attractions in Malaysia but also to establish networking with them. The occasion provided great opportunity for tour operators to have a better knowledge and perception about tourist attractions in Malaysia and what it could offer to their potential clients. Presently, several local tour agencies have been conducting tour groups to Malaysia.

 

In her welcoming remarks, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Romania, H.E. Datin Paduka Halimah Abdullah, highlighted about the importance of tourism industry to Malaysia as the second biggest foreign exchange earner after manufacturing. She also expressed her confident that with the increasing ease of travel and consistent promotional efforts, there is a lot of potentials for more tourist arrival from Romania. Besides, it is also important for tour operators from both countries to establish contact in order to develop a competitive and attractive package for local tourists.

The Embassy and Tourism Malaysia jointly organised a briefing session to promote Malaysia's uniqueness and wonders to the Romanian travel agencies.
