29 PERMATA INSAN CHILDREN SCIENTIFIC VISIT TO SAUDI ARABIA

JEDDAH - A total of 29 children selected for Permata Insan scientific visit to Jeddah, Mecca and Madinah for a week arrived in Jeddah on 11 April 2014. The group headed by Prof. Datuk Dr. Mizan Adiliah Ahmad Ibrahim was welcomed at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah by Consul General, Mr. Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, his spouse, Madam Aniza Khalid and officials from the Consulate and Tabung Haji Jeddah.

 

Permata Insan, a program initiated by YABhg Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, the wife of YAB Prime Minister since 2010 is to produce future scholars of the great thinkers of Islam based on the Quran and the Sunnah.

 

With close collaboration of the Consulate, the study visits is arrange to a number of renowned universities i.e. Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah, Taibah University in Madinah and the University of King Abdul Aziz and also the American International School in Jeddah.

 

The participants will also have the opportunity to visit and meet the Grand Mosque Mufti, Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al Sudais, `talaqi’ sessions at both holy mosques in Madinah and Mecca, and visiting historic sites and attractions including the Royal Makkah Clock Tower or the Abraj Al-Bait which is the highest and largest clock tower in the world.

 

The program is envisaged to generate knowledge about the history of Islam, Science and Mathematics as well as an opportunity for Permata Insan to establish close cooperation with universities of the kingdom, Insya’Allah.
