JEDDAH - The official launch of Air Asia’s direct flights from Jeddah to Kuala Lumpur and its partnership with Al-Faris International Travel and Tourism as authorized agent for the budget carrier in Saudi Arabia was announced at a recent press conference.
The ceremony was held in the presence of Khalid Al-Aboud, President of al-Faris International Travel and Tourism, Dato’ Kamarudin Meranun, Co-founder and Director of AirAsia X and Mr. Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, Malaysian Consul General as the Chief Guest of the event.
The flights from Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah commenced on 16 February 2013, which was the airline first destination to the Kingdom. Currently, the flights operate three times a week. But the frequency will rise to four per week from May 1, according to officials. AirAsia X services to Jeddah would provide an affordable travel option for Haj and Umrah Pilgrims.
