ASEAN GAMES 2008 - SEPAK TAKRAW

ASEAN GAMES 2008 kicks off with a Sepak Takraw Tournament organized by the Consulate General of Malaysia at its premises on 7 May 2008.

The event was attended by players and supporters from the ASEAN Community in Jeddah who turned up at the Consulate to join in the festivities. Snacks and drinks were prepared by PERWAKILAN – the Ladies Association of the Malaysian Consulate in Jeddah.

After grueling round-robin matches Malaysia A emerged Champion. First runner-up went to Thailand, while Malaysia B won 2^nd.runner-up place.  Prizes and trophies were given away by the Consul Generals of Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore.

The Consul General of Malaysia praised the participants and supporters for their sportsmanship. The host further said that the ASEAN GAMES was revived after a lapse of many years to foster friendship and camaraderie amongst the ASEAN Community in Jeddah.

The next event of the ASEAN GAMES 2008 will be the Bowling Tournament organized by the Consulate General of the Philippines on 15 May 2008 at Jeddah Bowling Lanes, Musadiah Centre in Madinah Road.
