JEDDAH — About 140 Malaysians turned up for Malaysian Community Iftar which was hosted by the Consul General of Malaysia Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak and spouse, Madam Aniza Khalid, on Wednesday, at the Chancery.
The attendees were officers, staff, Malaysian professionals, nurses and students and their families mainly residing in Jeddah and Makkah. The Iftar began with breaking of fast followed by Maghrib prayers and dinner.
The attendees were served with a wide spread of authentic Malay dishes specially cooked for the special occasion which was duly appreciated and enjoyed by all. Afterward Taraweeh prayers were performed.
Khalid and spouse were happy to see a good turnout despite the summer holidays where many fellow Malaysians are already back home for fasting and celebrating Eid in Malaysia.
Those at the event were thrilled to be invited to such a program where they could gather among fellow Malaysians, mingle and savor the authentic taste of Malaysian cuisines. Said one of the guest the opportunity to attend Iftar at least managed to alleviate his homesickness of not being able to fast with his loved ones back home. Ramadan Kareem. — SG
