KD TUNKU ABDUL RAHMAN DOCKS IN JEDDAH.

 

Malaysia’s first submarine KD Tunku Abdul Rahman on its maiden voyage back to Malaysia from Toulon, France made a port call at Jeddah Islamic Port on 25-29 July 2009.

The 31-member crew of KD Tunku Abdul Rahman headed by Commanding Officer, Cdr Zulhelmi Ithnain took the opportunity of being in the holy land to perform Umrah in Makkah and Ziarah to Madinah.

Commander Zulhelmi also paid a visit to the Consulate General on 26 July 2009.
The same day, the Consul General of Malaysia was welcomed on board KD TAR and given a brief tour of the ship. The Consul General paid tribute to the Malaysian pioneer submariners and wished them a safe journey home to Malaysia.
