MALAYSIA OFFERS HIGH-QUALITY, HALAL PRODUCTS AND SERVICES

JEDDAH – Malaysia is participating in a big way in the on-going Saudi Food, Hotel and Hospitality Arabia (SFHHA), at Jeddah Center of Forums and Events. Consul General of Malaysia, Mohd Khalid Abbasi Abdul Razak, while talking to the media during the opening ceremony on Sunday was eager to share Malaysia’s participation where 18 companies are showcasing their goods and services on April 13-16.

 

Noting that Saudi Arabia is the largest market for food and beverages in the Gulf region, accounting for 63% of all of the region’s imports with the value of the Saudi halal food estimated at $6 billion annually, he said it is timely for Malaysian companies to be in the Kingdom, to explore for business partnerships with their counterparts.

 

He stated that with close collaboration of the Consulate Trade Office and Ministry of Agriculture of Malaysia a special business delegation and exhibitors are participating in this year event.

 

The companies are manufacturers and exporters of various food products, processed canned food, chocolates products, healthy food and beauty products, pre-instant mixed coffee and a variety instant noodles, pets food, baby diapers, food flavors and moulded papers, pulp and agro fiber products.

 

The Consul General pointed that all the products are halal, high in quality and rich with health benefits.

 

Bilateral trade relations between Malaysia and the Kingdom are showing tremendous increase. In this respect, the Consul General reiterated that there is much room for expansion of both countries' trade relationship in many areas such as for machinery, appliances and parts, building and construction materials, palm oil, processed food and beverages as well as wood products. Malaysia also offers a wide range of services including property development, construction, engineering services, power generation, Islamic banking and financial services, information communication technology, franchise, healthcare, education to name a few.

 

He believe that by continue working closely together with JCCI and other related Saudi companies it will further foster the advancement of trade and economic relationship of both countries and mutually beneficial. — SG
