NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION IN JEDDAH

 

Malaysia’s 52nd.National Day was celebrated on Monday, 31 August 2009 at the Consulate General of Malaysia in moderation, appropriate with the holy month of Ramadan.  

 

An Iftar reception “kampung style” was organized by the Consulate attended by over 350 Malaysians in Jeddah. The Guest-of- Honour at the Independence Day gathering was Yang Berhormat Dato’ Dr.Fuad Zarkashi, Deputy Minister of Education.

 

Following the break of fast and Maghrib Jemaah prayers, a short ceremony to commemorate Malaysia’s Independence Day was convened. Doa Hari Kebangsaan was read by Ustaz Baharudin Deraman. A short speech was given by the Consul General, after which the Guest-of- Honour Yang Berhormat Dato’ Dr.Fuad Zarkashi, Deputy Minister of Education delivered his talk. 

 

Yang Berhormat Dato’ Dr.Fuad Zarkashi was in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah but had graciously consented to attend the National Day function organized by the consulate.

 

After Dinner, the gathering continued with Isyak and Tarawikh prayers. Food for the night was prepared by D’Saji Restaurant (Felda) and PERWAKILAN Ladies.
