SAUDI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW 2009, JEDDAH

Malaysia’s campaign to promote its Marine Tourism received a boost at the Saudi International Boat Show held at the Al Furusya Marina and Yacht Club in Jeddah from 14-17 October 2009.

Tourism Malaysia’s participation clearly stands out with its attractive Malaysian-styled booth with the imposing Petronas Twin Towers.

Thousands thronged the Tourism Malaysia booth daily to enquire about the fascinating destinations in Malaysia. Prospective visitors and leisure seekers were introduced to the many marina facilities and beautiful dive sites in Malaysia which is already known as a popular holiday and honeymoon destination for Arab tourists.

The Saudi International Boat Show 2009 was officiated by HRH Prince Khaled Al Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region with the presence of HRH Prince Sultan bin Salman, Chairman of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities. It is the largest International Leisure and Marine Tourism Festival in the Kingdom. A spectacular array of superyachts, leisure and fishing boats were put on display during the 4-day festival. Apart from a fishing competition, a conference focussing on the latest trends and developments within the boating industry was held at the Mariott Jeddah.
