JEDDAH, Oct 21 (Bernama) -- Malaysians, including those residing in Saudi Arabia, are advised to use legal channels and to observe all regulations set by the Saudi Arabian government to perform the Haj pilgrimage.
The Consul General of Malaysia in Jeddah, Mohd Khalid Abdul Razak, said that according to the regulation set by the Saudi Arabian government, those who had performed the Hajj pilgrimage could only perform their subsequent pilgrimage after five years.
For Malaysians, he said, they would have to obtain the Hajj Permit from the Saudi Arabian muasassah agent, which is Tabung Haji, to do so, adding that those residing in Saudi Arabia, could apply either through local Hajj appointed agents or the Saudi Arabian muasassah.
"This year, strict checks are carried out by the Saudi Arabian authorities as there are more than three million people from all over the world to perform the pilgrimage," he told the Tabung Haji media team after a forum at the Consulate General's office here last night.
The forum, on how to get the Haj Mabrur (acceptable Haj), is organised by the Consulate and Tabung Haji. The panel members are Tabung Haji consultants, Penang Mufti Datuk Seri Hassan Ahmad and Johor Religious Council adviser Datuk Noh Gadot.
About 300 people attended the forum.
