Official Visit of the Honourable Minister of Defence of Malaysia to Sudan, 27-29 July 2010

The Honourable Dato' Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Minister of Defence of Malaysia and Datin Seri Hamidah Khamis made an official visit to Sudan from 27-29 July 2010.

 

He was accompanied by the Army Field Commander, Y.Bhg Lt General Dato' Seri Panglima Ahmad Hasbullah bin Haji Mohd Nawawi and other officials from the relevant authorities.

The visit came within the framework of boosting and consolidating the bilateral relations between the two countries and for the review of the joint issues in the fields of defence and security.

The President of the Republic of Sudan, His Excellency Omar Hasan Al-Bashir who received the delegation expressed appreciation to the Malaysian efforts with regard to strengthening the development process in Sudan, especially in the field of oil and the historical relations linking the armed forces in the two countries.

 

Meanwhile, Minister of National Defense of Sudan, General Abdul Rahim Mohamed Hussain underlined the importance of the visit, the first of its kind to Sudan by the Malaysian Defence Minister, in promoting cooperation between the two countries in all domains.
