CHARGÉ D' AFFAIRES OF MALAYSIA MET WITH

THE GOVERNOR OF ALEXANDRIA,

ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT

Mr. Shaiful Anuar Mohammad, Chargé d' Affaires a.i. made a courtesy call on the Alexandria Governor, Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. General Adil Labib on Thursday, 5 November 2009.  He was accompanied by Associate Professor Dr. Jamil Hashim, Director of Malaysian Student's Department, Mr. Ishak Othman, Director of MARA, Mr. Abdullah Mat, Religious Attaché of JAKIM, Mr. Mohd. Fauzi Mohd. Said, Second Secretary of Embassy of Malaysia and Mrs. Nor Zakiah Zaidon, Education Attaché of Malaysian Student's Department (Alexandria). H.E. General Adil Labib was joined in the meeting by Mrs. Zainab, Head of Information of the Governor's Office. 

 

 


 

The purpose of the courtesy call is to deepen the existing bilateral relations between the two countries especially in the field of higher education by seeking potential areas of collaboration particularly with the Alexandria Governorate. Currently about 1,800 Malaysian students studying in the Al-Azhar University (Alexandria Campus) and Alexandria University in religious and medicine studies.  

 

Alexandria, with a population of 4.1 million, is the second-largest city in Egypt, and is the country's largest seaport, serving about 80% of Egypt's imports and exports. Alexandria is also an important tourist resort.
