The Embassy of Malaysia in Cairo hosted a media engagement session with representatives from Al Ahram, Al Diplomasy and The Egyptian Gazette in appreciation of the strong cooperation established in promoting closer ties between Malaysia and Egypt.
In his opening remarks, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Egypt highlighted the longstanding and excellent bilateral relations between both countries, including the shared aspiration to elevate ties towards a Strategic Partnership. Briefings by Malaysian agencies based in Cairo, including MATRADE and JAKIM, covered various areas of cooperation such as direct connectivity between Cairo and Kuala Lumpur, halal cooperation, the digital economy, tourism opportunities, as well as marriage procedures involving Malaysians and Egyptians. The session also served as a platform to promote the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) and the Global Halal Summit scheduled to be held in September 2026.
The engagement reflected the Embassy’s appreciation for the important role played by media partners in disseminating accurate information to the public and in contributing towards stronger bilateral relations and closer people-to-people ties between Malaysia and Egypt.
At the conclusion of the session, members of the media were served with sumptuous Malaysian delicacies, providing them with a taste of Malaysia’s rich and diverse culinary heritage.
