On 20 September 2019, H.E. Dato’ Shariffah Norhana Syed Mustaffa, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam hosted a reception to celebrate the 62nd National Day of Malaysia and 56th Malaysia Day at Sheraton Hanoi Hotel.
Around 250 guests including foreign Ambassadors, Charge d’ Affaires and representatives from various Embassies and International Organisations in Hanoi as well as Vietnamese Government Officials attended the event. Malaysians living and working in Hanoi also took part in the celebration.
The event was attended by H.E. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam as the guest of honour.H.E. Dato’ Shariffah in her remarks stated that Malaysian Government looks forward to further strengthen the existing bilateral ties for mutual benefits.In his remarks Vice Minister Dung recalled the recent Official Visit of YAB Prime Minister to Hanoi and expressed hope for Malaysia and Vietnam to enhance bilateral cooperation.
Guests were then treated with varieties of Malaysian dishes which include nasi lemak, soto ayam, rendang minang, cucur surimi, satay and an assortment of Malaysian desserts such as badak berendam, pulut inti, teh tarik and many more.The Malaysian dishes were prepared by two Malaysian chefs specially brought to Hanoi from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur.
The event provide an opportunity for Malaysian, locals and international attendees to build network, establish acquaintance and renew friendship in celebrating the values of diversity.
