H.E. AMBASSADOR DR SHAZELINA ZAINUL ABIDIN PRESENTS LETTER OF CREDENCE TO THE PRESIDENT OF CABO VERDE, 31 MAY 2019
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia, H.E. Ambassador Dr Shazelina Zainul Abidin, presented her Letter of Credence to the President of Cabo Verde, H.E. Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca at the Presidential Palace on 31 May 2019. She was accompanied to the ceremony by First Secretary, Rozaime Mohamed Desa.
The ceremony saw Dr Shazelina being escorted by the Chief of Protocol, Ambassador Edna Barreto from the hotel and throughout the whole ceremony. Upon her arrival to the Presidential Palace, Dr Shazelina stood in salute to the National Anthem and the raising of the flags. She was then ushered to the receiving room and introduced to President Fonseca, where she handed over her Letter of Credence, Letter of Recall (of her predecessor) and conveyed the regards of His Majesty the King of Malaysia.
A short tête-à-tête followed, with President Fonseca welcoming Malaysia’s interest in Cabo-Verde through the MTCP. He also expressed his hope that there would be other avenues of cooperation between the two countries, and impressed upon Dr Shazelina that she would always be welcome in Cabo Verde for future consultations with his Administration.
