In conjunction with the Hari Raya Aldilfitri Celebration, H.E. Dato’ Jamaiyah M. Yusof, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Republic of Senegal hosted ‘Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House’ at Rumah Malaysia on Friday, 10 September 2010 (1 Syawal 1431 Hijrah). The Hari Raya Open House is not only to celebrate the joyous occasion of Hari Raya Aidilfitri but more importantly it is meant to strengthen ‘silaturahim’ or friendship between the Embassy of Malaysia with the local community in Dakar, Senegal.
The Open House which started from 4 – 6 pm saw the arrival of more than 100 guests from the diplomatic circle, ‘Friends of Malaysia’ and local Senegalese joining together with members of the Embassy of Malaysia in Dakar, Senegal to share the celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
Traditional Malaysian delicacies such as ‘Lontong’, ‘Nasi Impit’, ‘Rendang’, ‘Kuah Kacang’, ‘Nasi Beriani’ and traditional cookies were served to the guests a gesture to share the Malaysian tradition of ‘Rumah Terbuka’.
H.E. Dato’ Jamaiyah M. Yusof and members of Home-Based Staff at the Embassy of Malaysia in Dakar, Republic of Senegal would like to take this opportunity to wish all Malaysians home and abroad ‘Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri’.
