Dining under the Stars
As they say – work is never done.
In an effort to continue the promotion of Malaysia with which the Embassy is entrusted, the Embassy of Malaysia in Dakar recently supported the holding of a Malaysian food promotion. The event, propelled by an idea by Malaysian Fine Dining, was held on 27 June 2021 and was open to a public eager to sample Malaysian food at its best.
The challenge was to find a place that could accommodate all necessary Standard Operating Procedures in a Covid-19 pandemic. Enter The Garden of Mirazzo in Fann Residence, which offered sufficient space for diners to be outside while still enjoying the benefits of fine dining.
Seats for the event were quickly snapped up ahead of time, allowing the organisers to limit the number of guests.
The menu? Two six-course meals to choose from, comprising of two appetizers, three mains, one pre-dessert and one dessert per menu. Non-alcoholic drinks were free flowing throughout the night, with many of the choices typically Malaysian in creation.
A big thank you to Venko Chocolate which also supplied some of the pre-dessert items; to Madame G Thu Bay and Mr Alpha Bodian who patiently explained the various dishes to the guests; to the many people behind the scenes who provided time and effort; and of course to the guests who came to enjoy the food on the night.
