On 5 January 2026, the Trans ASEAN Madani 2026 Convoy was officially flagged off from Bangkok, Thailand at the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok by H.E. Datuk Wan Zaidi Wan Abdullah, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Kingdom of Thailand, together with Wira and Manja, the new mascots of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).
Comprising 15 vehicles and more than 60 participants, the overland journey brings together the convoy from Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, and is taking place from 1 to 16 January 2026.
This initiative reflects Malaysia’s commitment to people-to-people diplomacy, fostering cross-border friendship and cooperation, while extending a warm Malaysian welcome to international travellers through cultural exchange and shared regional connections.
