The Embassy of Malaysia in Ashgabat, in collaboration with TO BAKEP, organised an iftar gathering with Malaysian diaspora, Embassy staff and several local guests in Turkmenistan. The event was held on 7 March 2026 at Rumah Malaysia as part of efforts to strengthen ties among the Malaysian community abroad while also introducing Malaysian culture to the local community.
Approximately 80 guests attended the event, creating a warm and lively atmosphere for the iftar gathering. The programme began with the breaking of fast, followed by the recitation of Yaasin, Maghrib prayers, Isyak prayers and Terawih prayers.
Among the dishes served were traditional Malaysian favourites such as Nasi Kandar, lamb curry, vegetable dalca, Bubur Kacang Hijau, Teh Tarik and Sirap Bandung. These dishes not only reminded Malaysians of home but also provided an opportunity for local guests to experience the unique flavours of Malaysian cuisine.
