Travel Advisory

All travelers entering Turkmenistan require a visa. Thus, we highly recommend travelers book a guided tour, where the tour company will handle all the visa applications, accommodation bookings, transportation, and registration with the State Migration Office (for tourists staying in Turkmenistan exceeding three (3) days).

Tourists entering Turkmenistan are also not allowed to bring drones and any other equipment of such category. 

Payments in Turkmenistan for tourists are by cash in USD.

Access to online telecommunication (WhatsApp) or social media (IG, Facebook, X) is restricted and can only be used with a few Virtual Private Networks, which in certain cases are not that stable. You are advised to have a local contact number, which your tour agent could assist on this matter to ease your communication in the country.

Tipping is not a culture in Turkmenistan or most Central Asian countries.

We also advise tourists to be modest in taking pictures, particularly government buildings and government workers (i.e immigration officers/ policemen).
