On 1 October 2018, the Embassy of Malaysia in Kyiv received a delegation from the Department of Islamic Development of Malaysia (JAKIM) who is on a working visit to Ukraine from 30 September to 6 October 2018 at the invitation of Ukraine’s Halal Certification Center. JAKIM will be conducting an evaluation on the capability of the Ukrainian halal certification body to comply with JAKIM’s procedures and guidelines for the purpose of receiving approval and recognition of the Malaysian Halal Standards.
The demand for Malaysia’s halal certification is high and on an increasing trend year-on-year. This reflects global recognition and acceptance towards Malaysian Halal Standard.
The new cooperative endeavour on halal certification between Malaysia and Ukraine is certainly a promising area of collaboration. It will also pave the way for expansion of market access of products being traded between the two countries and beyond. Moreover, Ukraine is now underway to being globally-connected through the halal platform.
