REMEMBERING THE FALLEN HEROES OF COMMONWEALTH

 

 

Malaysia joined other Commonwealth Member Countries in Ukraine to observe the Remembrance Day for Commonwealth held on 9th November 2012 at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Glory Park of Kyiv. This year, the simple yet solemn ceremony was held a few days earlier as 11th November 2012 fell on Sunday.

 

The Remembrance Day was organized annually tocommemorate the fallen heroes of the past wars, namely the World War I, World War II and other world conflicts, who had sacrificed their lives and services for the sake of defending their religious beliefs, races and countries.

 

H.E. Ambassador ChuahTeong Ban laid a wreath at the tomb. Others who participated were the host country, Ukraine, NATO member countries, religious and civil society groups and school children.
