Ambassador of Malaysia to Ukraine, H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah and wife, Datin Roslina Ismail hosted a group of foster children at their Residence on 9 February 2019.
Both sat down for a chat with the children, aged between 21 years old and 9 years old on the pressures and challenges of growing up, especially for young girls. H.E. Ambassador and his wife acknowledged that as foster children, it is even harder for them as they may not have role models and face quite an uncertain future especially after they leave the foster system. H.E. Ambassador and Datin Roslina also opened up about their adolescent life, falling in love and building a family. They imparted words of wisdom, encouragement in the hope that it would enrich the children’s sense of self-belief and self-worth.
The session was part of the Embassy of Malaysia’s outreach programme for 2019 in which we hope to inspire young boys and girls in Ukraine to embrace the messages conveyed by H.E. Ambassador and his wife and consequently, strive to become the best that they could be and then go on to help others in their community.
