On 7 April 2021, the Embassy of Malaysia hosted a Videoconference (VC) between Mr. Azlikamil Napiah, Director-General of Malaysia Space Agency (MYSA) and Mr. Volodymyr Taftay, Chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine (SSAU). The VC was also participated by representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation Malaysia (MOSTI) and the Ukrainian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The VC was held to facilitate and establish the first formal communication between the Director-General of MYSA and the newly appointed Chairman of SSAU with the view to facilitate greater cooperation on space-related matters between the two national space agencies. H.E. Raja Dato’ Reza Raja Zaib Shah, Ambassador of Malaysia in Ukraine in his opening remarks underlined that Malaysia aspires to become Southeast Asia's leading space nation by 2030.
