Consul General of Malaysia, Mr. Nekmat Ismail joined other Consular Corps based in Los Angeles for a briefing and presentation by the top management of the Port of Los Angeles. The briefing was later followed by a boat tour of the Port of Los Angeles. The event took place on Thursday, 27 June 2013 at San Pedro, California.
The Malaysian Trade Commissioner, Mdm. Rusiah Mohamed and the Director of MIDA Los Angeles, Mr. Nik Nasri Nik Ahmad also participated in the event.
The Port of Los Angeles is the leading seaport in North America handling over 8.1 million TEU (twenty-foot equivalent units of container) in 2012 worth US$ 283 billion of cargo.
