The American Red Cross Los Angeles Region (ARCLAR) held a briefing for Consuls General and representatives from the Los Angeles Consular Corps on Monday, 3 December 2012 to update them on efforts made by ARCLAR pertaining to disaster relief preparation. The briefing was given by Mr. Paul Schultz, Chief Executive Officer of ARCLAR at the American Red Cross office in Pasadena, California. Since last year, ARCLAR has increased the total number of Los Angeles shelter spaces to 500,000 and has increased its capacity to serve and distribute meals to 4 million meals per day.
The Consulate General of Malaysia would like to take this opportunity to urge all Malaysians including students residing in the western region of the United States to be prepared in any eventualities like natural disasters such as earthquake, windstorm and fire. In any case of these emergencies please seek immediate assistance by calling your local police or dial 911. It is also important to notify the Consulate General of Malaysia in Los Angeles / Education Malaysia in Los Angeles whenever you are affected by any emergencies.
